Mythology: The Ram in mythology represented a supernatural being sent down by the God "Zeus" to aid Phirxus and Helle from their evil stepmother. Helle fell off the Ram's back and drowned in the ocean, but Phirxus arrived safely, and sacrificed the Ram to Zeus, who then placed it's form in the night sky. The fleece of the ram turned to gold, and was hung in a sacred grove that was watched over by a dragon. This dragon was later found and captured in the famous story, Jason and the Argonauts.
